TIME – Make It Count

I recently came across a lady called Rachel Bland and started following her story online. We read about death every single day but her story on battling cancer hit me in my innermost core. Why, because when I started following her story she was alive, and she knew she had a short time left to live.

What we do with our time is our choice. We can choose to be selfless, courageous, happy, decisive, positive, persistent, empowered, and generous.

How did Rachel CHOOSE to spend her time? She decided to create positive memories for her loved ones, she decided to use that time to encourage others, she decided to use that time to help her husband plan for the future of their son, she decided to use that time to wrap 18 years’ worth of presents for her son to open on his birthdays, she decided to use that time to write down mementos her son could read so he could know who his mother was as he grows up. She made the conscious choice to do something memorable with the time she had left.

I opened the paper few days after I started following her story and saw: “Rachel Bland dies at 40”. My heart sank, not because I wasn’t aware that it was coming but because I was gutted that she ran out of time to do some of the things she still hoped to do. I was gutted that a child would grow up without his mother’s love. I was gutted that someone who had the capacity to use her time wisely was no more.

What we do with our time is our choice. We can choose to be selfless, courageous, happy, decisive, positive, persistent, empowered, and generous.

The choices are unlimited.

The choice as ever, remains yours.

Choose wisely!!!
